FAQ

You will receive 4 issues. We publish online-only at the end of March, June, September, and December. You will also receive one special issue.

Yes. All new subscribers from September 1,  2022 will receive access to the journal from the very first issue (March 2011). You will find the back issues under the title of American Journal of SPHM, International Journal of SPHM, and, from January 2023, International Journal of SPHM & Falls Management (IJSPHM & Falls Management).

Yes. As we received more international interest and received articles from overseas authors, it was the logical next step to become international.

Over the last few years we have seen a more explicit discussion on the role SPH technology is playing in reducing falls and promoting mobility. Many of the articles we receive reference the crossover between SPH, mobility, and fall prevention. Therefore, we decided to make the connection between all 3 areas more explicit by introducing falls management into the title of the journal.

The short answer is yes. That would be an Option 1 subscription. However,  there are many benefits included in the Option 2 and Option 3 subscriptions. The new price of the journal is very representative of the cost of a specialist health care journal alone. As a company that values education, we have included extra educational elements to provide you with different ways of learning about the articles, the authors, and other aspects of SPHM and falls management.

Your will continue to have access to the 4 issues of the journal during your 12-month subscription. When your subscription is completed you can re-subscribe using one of the 3 subscription options and receive access to all the benefits of a subscriber of your chosen option. If you would like to change your existing subscription to include the new benefits you will need to inform us at info@SPHMjournal.com so that we can reset the system to allow you to do this. No credit or refund will be given for any time left on your subscription.

All of  our summits are presented virtually and will be recorded. If you are an Option 3  individual subscriber of the journal, you will receive VIP access to recordings of each of the summits for 6 months after the live summit has been completed. This means that regardless of which time zone you live in, you can access the summit at your convenience. If you choose to attend the summits live, you will receive a special bonus at the end of each day.

Yes. We welcome first-time authors, as well as those of you who feel your writing skills are a little rusty. We offer a free journal author mentorship scheme. You will need to submit a brief summary (no more than 250 words) of your article idea and send it to the journal editor at hmonaghan@SPHMjournal.com. The next step is for you to be matched to the most appropriate mentor, who will then contact you directly. After that it is up to the two of you to work together. Your mentor will help you as much as he or she can, but will not write the article for you.

If you want some hints and tips for writing before you start, watch the videos on How to Write for a Journal. There are 4 short videos sponsored by the IJSPHM & Falls Management to help you get started and maximize your chances of getting published the first time you submit.

Send an email to info@SPHMjournal.com with the words PASSWORD RESET in the title, along with your name and the email address you use when accessing the journal. We will send you an email with a reset link within 24 hours.

Yes. Located on the home page, the search feature will retrieve all articles using a key word or author name that has been published in the journal since March 2011.

If you are a non-commercial organization and would like to use a specific article, or part of one, for an educational event, please email info@sphmjournal.com and write EDUCATION in the subject line. You will also need to include details of the article you are interested in and how it fits into the education event you are providing. To do this without permission is a breach of copyright.

No. This is a direct breach of copyright. If you work in a facility that has institutional access to the journal, your subscription allows anyone in your facility to directly access the journal.

If you are a commercial organization, email info@sphmjournal.com  and write COMMERCIAL EDUCATION in the subject line. A member of the IJSPHM & Falls Management team will contact you to discuss the cost of purchasing access to the article. To do this without permission is a breach of copyright.

Refunds are not available once you have subscribed to the journal. However, if you change your job, you may transfer your journal access to your new location within the first 3 months of the subscription.

If your journal subscription automatically renews at the old subscription rate, you will be offered a refund of the amount you have been charged ($25.00 or $49.95). If you wish to subscribe under the new subscription rate, please wait a few days until your refund has been approved and you have been notified of such by a member of the journal team.
