If you are the leader of a Safe Patient Handling Program, an Early Mobility initiative, or a Fall Prevention Program, then the Leading the Way workshop is for you.
This 3 x half-day online workshop takes you through the reality of the challenges you are likely to experience in your leadership role, as well as working with you to provide practical solutions you can use immediately to help you maximize your personal and program’s success.
Objectives:
By the end of the workshop you will be able to:
- Discuss 10 ways to address the most frequent challenges to program leadership
- Understand how using a reflective approach to planning can pro-actively address potential challenges in program implementation and sustainability
- Identify resources available to help support effective program leadership in SPH, Early Mobility and Fall Prevention.

- A printable workbook to use in real time as they progress through the workshop
- A reflective practice tool to use during the workshop and beyond
- A list of resources available to assist with the Program Leader role

Introduction
1) Be clear about your role: Understand others expectations of you, your level of authority, your budget, goals, and timeline.
2) Widen your network and knowledge base. Expand your contact list, your networks and relevant local, state and federal policies and legislation.
3) Recognize the priorities of other healthcare professionals. Engage all stakeholders, review regularly and be prepared to be flexible.
4) Manage your time effectively. Develop personal and organizational strategies to keep your program/project moving forward.

6) Empower others and delegate. Build relationships with your colleagues. Facilitate the growth of others.
