SUPPLEMENT: Comprehensive Review of SPHM Articles from 2005-2016
$25.00
As the evidence base to support safe patient handling and mobility (SPHM) programs has grown steadily over the past decade so has the number of published articles and other text-based resources related to this topic. A quick search about SPHM on the Internet will provide a vast list of articles from sources such as professional journals, trade magazines, manufacturers and vendors of equipment, government organizations, and companies or individuals providing SPHM-related services for hire.
Searching for reliable information about specific SPHM-related topics can be challenging and time consuming. To assist in making this search easier, the information in this supplement provides the reader with a comprehensive list of SPHM references categorized by specific topics.
This list is developed from extensive literature reviews and searches conducted from 2005-2016 of peer-reviewed journal databases such as CINAHL and PsychINFO, a review of SPHM textbooks available primarily in the United States, and a search of federal and state occupational safety and health Web sites. In addition, all articles published in the American Journal for SPHM are included.
Although most references listed are within the last 10 years, a few references published before 2005 are included because the information provided is still valid today and/or represents seminal work in the field.
To facilitate the use of the reference list, it is important to note that each reference has been listed only once. Readers may need, therefore, to look at more than one category to find all the references on one particular area of safe patient handling.
