Bringing Life to a System-Wide Early Mobility Clinical Practice: Part Two
$25.00
An early mobility initiative has been recently instituted as a systemwide clinical practice at Banner Health (BH) in November 2020. This clinical evaluation demonstrates the 6-month implementation strategy, the baseline data that speaks to process and outcome measures, and lessons learned from a large healthcare system perspective. The development of this program began in 2019 and was spearheaded by BH Hospital Medicine Clinical Consensus Group (CCG) based on a pilot program called virtual Acute Care of Elders (vACE) at BH flagship academic medical center in Phoenix, AZ. Part 1 of this 2-part article focused on the processes used by the Early Mobility Steering Committee using the concepts of vACE, CCG, and nurse-driven Bedside Mobility Assessment Tool (BMAT) to implement safe mobilization. Part 1 publication can be found in the December 2020 International Journal of Safe Patient Handling and Mobility.
