Managing COVID-19 and Safe Patient Handling and Mobility in the United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS)

During the 25 years I have worked in the SPHM field, both within the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) and as a freelance consultant and business director, I have faced a multitude of challenges, ranging from changing practice with care to working within the financial constraints inherent in all businesses, and more specifically in the NHS. Rarely have we faced a greater challenge than the global pandemic we know as COVID-19. The impact of this virus has affected all elements of society and none more so than health care.
