What’s in a Name?

I am pleased to announce a change to the name of the journal. From January 1st 2023 we will be known
as the International Journal of Safe Patient Handling, Mobility, and Falls Management.

Why the change? The answer is threefold. First, there are more similarities between safe patient
handling, early and continuous mobility, and falls management than there are differences. Second, we
need to use our human resources in a more efficient way. Why have a unit representative for each of
safe patient handling, mobility, and falls prevention. Do you even have enough staff to do that? Finally,
all 3 initiatives are about patient and staff safety and quality in the workplace and of patient care.
