Focus on State Advocacy: Oregon’s Success Story

This article summarizes the approach taken by the Oregon Coalition for Health Care Ergonomics (OCHE) over the past decade to improving healthcare worker safety across the continuum of care in Oregon. The 6 initiatives that provide the framework for projects and activities completed by OCHE since 2003 are described. The influence of the coalition’s work related to reducing and preventing injuries to healthcare workers in Oregon is discussed, and future goals of OCHE are outlined.
